It's not your eyes

Just a note to say I'm still here, toiling away at illustrations that I don't think I can really show here, being a commissioned job for educational purposes. These are some of them, blurred, but I think you can tell they're not exactly loose, free and expressive - more like diagrams really. They are aimed at rural, unsophisticated and mostly illiterate viewers, so have to be self-explanatory and unambiguous. Though I do quite enjoy the challenge of conveying these necessary and important messages (these for HIV nutrition and care), after a few days I am itching to let loose with some brushes and paint. Back soon I hope.
Oh, and happy May Day - it's a public holiday here and called Worker's Day - that's me, a worker!

Each figure tells a story. Wonderful lines. ... but why blurred images ?? don't understand this.

Hi Joan - sorry! I thought I'd explained myself... because they are for a company who has commissioned them and paying for them, they 'own' them, I guess. It's not likely anyone will want to use them, but I blurred them just in case! This post really to say I haven't disappeared and gone into a creative slump (again!)

Happy May Day, Cathy. I think what you are doing has a great purpose and understand that you can't show them clearly to us. I really loved the previous sketches of all the people and tossing in some brights - and that one man in the hat - too cool - and what a wonderful way to take care of time spent sitting and waiting :)

Ohhh the sadness and difficulty of HIV and AIDS in Africa! I am proud that you can do something to make a difference.

Glad you haven't gone away and I'm glad I don't need new glasses! Have to say that your learner's licence sketches are truly ... fantastic ... amazing... I'm lost for words. They are such a reminder of life here in SA - you just have to smile.

I was trying not to bother you, but you are missed you know. We will be here when you are ready to come back to the world of blogging. Love those commissions. They have built patios, fixed plumbing and paid the dentist
