What I love

I've received this Award - again! - from Adam Cope, someone with a real, palpable passion for painting and everything to do with it, including teaching it to others. Do visit his blog Dordogne Painting Days and have a look-see.
The award involves naming seven things that you love, but I decided that instead of composing a written list, I'd spend the time drawing the 'things' with this dip pen, which I've re-discovered and love, and sepia ink, ditto...

My studio - still in a mess, but I love it anyway!

  1. How clever, and dedicated of you! Though it's clear you loved making these drawings--the lines are so lyrical and sensitive. A beautiful post!!

  3. If I could just hop on a plane and pop over to see you all, you know I would... These sketches of your beloveds around hearth and home are so lovingly rendered. Wish I could be there to taste whatever BFG is cooking in the kitchen, and have a chat to you all. (Pat and stroke the Gooch-pooch and Kenzo-cat respectively.) I've just bought some rooibos tea online at a pretty good price for over here - so a little taste of home is on its way... :)

  4. Hi Laura - I did love doing them, I think easier than trying to express the feelings in words (besides the chocolate - just yum will do!)

Thank you Dominique - nice to hear from you again :-)

Gillian, and vice-versa - you and the Hills definitely more subjects to be sketched for the 'beloveds' list. I've just had a cup of rooibos before bed...enjoy yours when it comes!

  9. A wonderful and creative way to list your loves! They are all wonderful and I like the sepia ink very much - it's subtle but strong enough to give some good dark shapes.

  10. I love, love, love the sketch of your studio. I firmly believe a completely clean studio is an unloved studio :)
