An average of 45 mins per sketch I guess! I also spend time pretending I'm not looking at people when they spot me staring at them... tum-te-tum tum tumCathy Gatlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05004501411878060668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4859449716295663213.post-58447360068669109002009-08-26T18:54:12.111+02:002009-08-26T18:54:12.111+02:00a great post Cathy and great tips..a question; how...a great post Cathy and great tips..a question; how long does it take you to draw one drawing like this, sayfor exapmple, the one on the right just above the choir?
RonellAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4859449716295663213.post-9820915190888345962009-08-25T10:00:25.818+02:002009-08-25T10:00:25.818+02:00Oh good, Cathy - I hope you enjoy trying and can j...Oh good, Cathy - I hope you enjoy trying and can just relax and let what happens, happen - it's all a rather unpredictable journey!Cathy Gatlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05004501411878060668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4859449716295663213.post-42238111362100939062009-08-25T09:06:44.055+02:002009-08-25T09:06:44.055+02:00Thnaks a million for this post!!!!!! I remember that sketch of the woman in the food court well, and I also remember that I wondered at the time why she was laughing so much at the serious guy gulping his food down! Now I know! What a laugh indeed!! ;-) Thanks to your explanations, I think I'm going to try my first crowd as soon as possible!!Cathyhttp://cardsandstuff.canalblog.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4859449716295663213.post-18597673438856229982009-08-24T12:50:30.944+02:002009-08-24T12:50:30.944+02:00Yes, I'm often surprised to see that sketches ...Yes, I'm often surprised to see that sketches I thought were unsuccessful, look better after a break - and a good reason not to stress over them. And the memory 'seal' is always a plus (especially for one whose memory is a bit dodgy!)
Look forward to seeing Nell XXXCathy Gatlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05004501411878060668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4859449716295663213.post-78856900464779489592009-08-24T11:17:27.436+02:002009-08-24T11:17:27.436+02:00What a great lesson, and all for free. It's tha...What a great lesson, and all for free. It's that knowledge and practice of the individual that enables you to put them together so well. Being relaxed and having a go without stressing and rubbing out and being too self critical is important, isn't it? What seems awful at the time often looks better later, and even if not great, it seals a memory and trains the powers of observation for next time.
