Playing fast and loose
Been away a little while... I had some Real Work to do, with money and everything!! :o) I got these flowers over two weeks ago, from my nice sister-in-law, and though they're well past their best, I had to paint them before relegating them to their next life on the compost heap. And after those eggshells, I wanted to do them fast and loose, so set myself a time limit, to be finished by lunchtime. I went a bit over, and had just begun fiddling - but firmly downed tools and took the picture 'voetstoets' as they say here in the used-car industry - as is, take it or leave it!

Hey there! You must have just posted this. This is beautiful - quick and light. There is such movement here! Was a breeze gently moving the flowers? I'm sure they're dancing to something...?
Well I had Classic FM on...
It is beautiful. I have not been blogging for a long time too but good to get back and see a good piece.
Welcome back Indiaartist!
It's so beautiful ... I like it so much ..
Cathy, your flowers are lovely. So many colours!
Hey fast and loose... I'll take it!These are lovely flowers and such a nice way to seal the memory of a loving gift. And compost is good stuff too! Posting from Uk back from Cannes. Oh wow! What a place.XX
Thanks, Morpheus and Swee - and Vivienne - I didn't know you'd gone to Cannes, looking forward to hearing all about it!
You can see how all that pent-up energy from painting the grays and ochres of the eggshells erupted in colorful, flowery fireworks here! Wonderful!
It was a relief to let rip a bit - still discipline needed to stop fussing and fiddling, something I'm learning from you, Laura!
Wow! I'll take it! The color and brushwork are beautiful--the flowers seems like they're going to overrun the edges of the paper--so lively!
AWESOME!
