Scattered

I'm sorry once again for the bags of hush from here - I'm kind of chasing my tail, lots of projects on the go but not getting too much done on any of them... a bit of tapestry here... (a long, long-term project that needs to come to fruition now)

a bit of illustration there.. a special book for someone very special and very new but not really something I can put up here, yet anyway...

a feeling I should be out there grabbing the World Cup in sketches but where to go, how to get there, and dang, its cold!
Another little illustration to make me feel as if I'm helping the Gulf with one teeny drop in the ocean... this a postcard sketch for Kelly Light's Ripple project, which is now winging its way to Minnesota

some other work that I'm expecting any day now, the wedding sketchbook that deserves some undivided attention, as do most of these undertakings...

...and the odd wander around the garden and a watercolour sketch of an orchid that was blooming unnoticed all by itself and which has now been blackened by frost before I got to paint the whole thing.

Plus other life, family, friend things that take time, care and energy and a lingering cold that is at last, I think, moving off on its wicked way. I'm hoping for a blast of energy, a shot of inspiration and some clear thinking to proceed with the next logical, useful step along my tangled path.
Do I sound scattered, or just plain scatty?

I think I'll make a list!

You just sound busy! I love your scattering of things you've shared with us here, anyway. Beautiful!

It seems so funny to think it's cold there--we're close to a 100 degrees (F) today.

Ah Cathy but I believe it has been darned cold in Jozies! Love those sketches of the crowds in your previous post, and I agree, so much to do, so much to do .... I haven't been near the action here in CT, maybe I'll have to sketch my car with it's paraphernalia! Beautiful sketches for the Gulf effort.

I totally understand your condition! Read my One Thing At A Time post I wrote a couple of weeks back, maybe it'll help. Am just pulling my own self together after an unusual week away and a computerless phase. Love your efforts - especially your souvenir from garden wandering. Oh, and remember to breathe!

Sounds like you have a lot going on... I'd be feeling a little scattered too!

I love the shell postcard!

Hope you're soon feeling energetic and ready to tackle whatever presents itself!

Hugs,
Teresa

What a beautifully illustrated summary of work underway! You've inspired me to try a mid-year review of projects -- but I'm unlikely to come up with such a fascinating assortment.

Thanks Sue and Liz - the study where the computer is, is the coldest place in the house - I have to go outside every now and then to warm up!

Thanks Suzanne for your kindness, I remember reading those posts of yours and it does help to do so again!

Hi and thanks Teresa and Charlene - it's nice of you to call it fascinating though I suspect it's chronic ADD...

Scatteritis seems to be making the rounds of the blogosphere.
Your drawing of the little girl listening to the shell is inspired--what a great idea: I immediately begin to think of what it's saying ...
And the orchid is lovely--you've captured its fragility.

You just sound veeeeeery busy!! And I feel relieved to see I'm not the only one with these long to do lists... so thank you!

Every morsel you leave here is devoured... so much appreciate your artwork :)

I think I'm at the beginning of a cold, from going in and out of air-conditioned buildings.
Winter and Summer on opposite places of the planet. I love the blogosphere :)

You make me feel like I need a break too. I just don't seem to have any ME time at the moment. It took me the whole day to compile my blog this morning, got called away consistently and feel torn. Anyway your scatterings were wonderful to read and think your sketches are brlliant. Something I battle with but inspired to give it a bash.... Thank you Cathy! Looked for you at Richard Rennie's demo! He is just something else.

Your Orchid is beautiful and reminds me of my Cymbidiums(spell)which have all just stared flowering and have caught a bit of frost too!

We took a trip to Soweto (on our own) today. It was icy, but great to just experience the 'gees'. Family just too impatient to stop for photies, so we whizzed through. You would have had a ball sketching there.
