Sketchercise Day Two

I went on my second Sketchercise today - going to have to up my rate a bit to get the benefits of this! Being Sunday, my husband came with me - he was at a bit of a loose end while I sat on a bench and sketched this little cactus garden patch. He'll have to bring a book or a camera to keep himself occupied. I added a Unipin pen to my kit - it's quicker to get some outlines down before the watercolour goes on - still didn't fit in the 'main actor', the plant leaning on the rock, though. It's so cold at home, but the winter sunshine really heats up outside in the middle of the day - was great to be out in it.

I'm homesick for some sister company. Would love to go sketching with you. Glad BFG is accompanying you. Ah yes, that J'bg winter sunshine is heavenly after a cold night and morning! Watched a great movie on Pollock last night - very well done. So sad though. We leave for Oregon on Tuesday.

Well, you hard working gal, I have a lot of catching up to do on your blog! But not tonight - to tired to read. However, I have to wonder what your husband might do with his loose ends if you were to give him a pencil and drawing pad? Love the sketch. Glad you've joined the sketching exercisers.

Great sketch, Cathy. I love the element of line; you have such a free way with it.
You make me feel I should devote more time to sketching too ... this weekend I was like your husband: at loose ends!

As we leave the house I always ask "he who must not be bored while I sketch" whether he's got his book with him.

He lets me carry it for him in my back pack!!!

Mind you I let him carry my back pack from time to time too! :)

Enjoy beautiful Oregon, Gillian - and the other places you'll go. Weather today is mizzie - glad I sketched yesterday!

Suzanne, my husband says he won't do that, in case he does it better than me, and then I'll have to kill him ;)

Hey Liz - have missed you - thanks for the visit

Laura, you're incredibly prolific with your painting, I should think you need the odd weekend off!

Katherine, we haven't yet devised an anti-boredom plan - he's not known for sitting still too long anywhere - but help with carrying stuff is always welcome (I've done much handbag duty in the past!)

Beautiful sketch! I know exactly what you mean by "cold at home" and "winter sunshine"... I would definitely need some sunshine to heat up the room I'm in at the moment (two blankets, two pairs, of socks, ...)
