Woe is me

I've been feeling a bit sorry for myself. I did this stupid thing trying to swing myself up into a tree to prune a branch, badly straining muscles, tendons and nerves from my neck all the way through to my right forefinger. Comes from not realising my upper body strength has not kept up with my lower body expansion, and that I am no longer 25, but the reverse, plus some!

So these are a few sketches that I have managed with my restricted drawing capablities: Two women outside a local fruit & veg shop, selling brooms and embroidery, and a series of quick sketches in the waiting room of the X-ray department where I got my neck and shoulder checked out - nothing too alarming besides ancient whiplash injuries coming back to bite me, and good old, old age :-O)))

Oh, no! My heartfelt, and 100% genuine , sympathy, Cathy. I pulled a muscle clearing water and mud during the monsoon. I couldn't drive the Hoover for weeks!
I'm OK and pleased to hear you are, also.
And your sketches still look pretty good to me.
Stay well, keep drawing!

Hi, Cathy,
Take a rest well. It's no stupid at all. How painful and uncomfortable I can imagine! I cannot use a leg and weak forever. Cathy, if you can get well, no problem! Take it easy. Your humour and drawings are wonderful!! Please take care.
Best wishes, Sadami

Thanks Dinah, I remember reading you had done a similar thing - am so glad you are OK!

And Sadami - you are such an inspiration, I shouldn't whine about my temporary aches and pains when many have to overcome much worse, for always!

Your waiting room drawings show that no matter what your excellent observation and drawing skills are still there. Get better soon

I saw Oor Wullie on his wee bucket. And then I spotted Pooh and Eyeore...well! I'm afraid i couldn't see beyond that.

Oh, I'm so sorry about your injury and the pain in your pride (we all get it when we realize we are aging even if we don't want to admit it). You are an artist, not a gymnast - so take care, get rest, recuperate, and keep drawing when you can. These are wonderful! I love those brooms in the top sketch.

oh my! I do hope you're feeling better. And I know exactly how you feel having just tried a hike which involved climbing over rocks and trying to lift myself with my arms. What a joke.

I love the women selling brooms and such and the sketches of the hospital waiting room. I guess all hospital waiting rooms look alike with people bored and trying to pass the time until being seen.

How long was your wait. Sadly, in NYC, if you don't have blood gushing out of you and messing up their floors the wait time can be very long. (Like this comment!)

Hope you're feeling better!

Thanks for all the well wishes! Carol, not too long a wait (not a government hospital though where you could wait all day!) - since I started sketching I don't mind it as much as I used to!
