Hurricane doodle
It's very strange to be sitting in a calm, pleasant, sunny place trying to imagine my sister Gillian and her family 'hunkering down', as they say, near Houston with Ike belting above and around them, and how all this super technology that we rely on to keep in touch, is as useless as a candle would be in that storm. Be safe!

Hi Cathy. This looks very Turneresque, the color and the atmosphere; i love the movement--and emotion--in this abstract. Judging from the news this a.m., the worst of Ike is over; there are a lot of people without electricity, but I hope you will be able to talk with Gillian soon.
Thanks Laura :o), I think where they are is not getting the worst of it, but still, it must be pretty frightening - and it seems so far away!
Gosh this captures my mood perfectly.
I have been dithering and doodling all w/e, out of kilter with their time and yours.
It was good to get the news this morning that they are pretty well unscathed. There will be difficult days to come. I could not believe the size of that thing.
Yes, thankfully they're fine, bar a fence and their power supply... lots of mopping up work to do. It seemed to blot out Texas, didn't it!?
Best wishes to your sister and family.
A wonderful watercolor. Reminds me of JMW Turner.
THE SISTER AND FAMILY ARE FINE!! Thanks for your concern! Ike hit us around 3AM so we slept through most of it. I did open my blinds so I could watch the trees thrash about - it was amazing. We are fortunate to have very little damage and life goes on as usual now - where as others are rebuilding from scratch.
I love the Hurricane Doodle, CPG!
Thanks Leora, as you can see in the comment after yours, they are fine... and back online...yay!!
