Coffee in Rosebank

Oh - this was a draft I forgot to post... just some back views of people choosing their refreshments at Exclusive Books coffeeshop in Rosebank while I indulged in coffee and cheesecake, and some guerrilla sketching.

Oh Cathy…I SO adore your urban sketches.
I think I need to sign up for a life drawing class.
I think I "could" be good at figures with some direction.
I am thinking I need to refresh things like "most adults are 7 heads tall" or something like that?
And I want to work on simple but more realistic faces.

I looked at your post above with absolutely amazing adoration.
I want to be like you when I grow up!!!
I was SO honored to be on your list blogs you follow! Wow.

It is fall in the north woods of WI…blustering and leaves flying and we have a crackling fire in the fireplace for the first time today. About two weeks left here before we take the annual trek back down to FL and the palm trees.

Really a lovely pen work, Cathy! I admire it, too. Best wishes, Sadami

Thank you Ginny, you warm my heart! :) So many people I want to be when I grow up, but I'm beginning to suspect this is it. I've doodled faces for years, with different expressions (use a mirror!) and features, which helps when you're trying to sketch them - and remember not to make heads, hands and feet too big when drawing figures - one of the things I still have to keep reminding myself. Enjoy the fall, and then the palm trees - best of both worlds!

Thank you Sadami, it was fun to do this one!
