This is so beautiful! I know they won't have words to describe how this special gift makes them feel - and what a treat to have forever and ever!!! (I loved the way you chose what to color in and what to leave just a line drawing, never doing too much.)
What an absolutely perfect story of a wedding this is! I love the way you've worked in so many elements -- the real people with just the right amount of detail, the impressions of flowers everywhere, the wrought iron gate, the Palladian windows, and of course the dancing elephants in the bundu where it all began...
Thanks Rhonda and Charlene, I'm so glad you think so - I forgot to say, the dancing elephants are figurines that the bride made herself to put on top of the wedding cake (you can just see them again in the cake sketch).
WOW...what a wonderful idea and precious keepsake for your niece! Beautiful work ~
Still overwhelmed by this superb, unique and precious gift to my daughter. Hint to others: it is a HUGE ask to request a loved guest to undertake such a mission and I just hope it did not leave you feeling too sidelined, Cathy! If asked again, say ONE sketch, max!!Because you will be asked!!!!
Cathy - This is glorious! What an amazing keepsake. Congrats!
It turned out absolutely beautifully, C!! What a treasure! The happy couple must be over the moon with it. Well done! :)
Gosh Cathy but this is better than any photo album I've ever seen! An absolute treasure.
Thanks so much everybody!! Vivienne, I wanted to sketch at the wedding anyway... the only difference having you know about it, was that I couldn't scrap it if it wasn't working out and give them a salad spinner instead ;) It wasn't a huge request at all.
What a beautiful, beautiful book! The newly weds are so lucky to have this as a memento.
Cathy, this is so beautiful! I'm speechless! You may have been more emotionally involved with this wedding, but the sketches are stunning, and the words sound like a true fairy tale! They must be thrilled and moved by such a wedding present!

What a treat and a joy! A beautiful job, my dear. It will be passed along through generations!
Oh, Cathy, I know exactly what it is to make sketches for a wedding. I did this a couple of years ago, back when I thought I might make a specialty of it as part of my art business. It's very, very nerve-wracking, knowing the final product is going be a memento to the bride and groom of their most special day. Yours is a real triumph of love and skill! Wow, what a lovely, lovely book you've made for them.
